F&M Students! Don’t miss out on the chance to sit left, right, and center of award-winning journalist David Greene for a live podcast recording on October 9th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Barshinger Hall.
Described as a “civilized yet provocative confrontation over politics, policy, and pop culture,” Greene brings a new approach to pertinent political questions — ones that struggle to be answered courteously across the dinner table. His panelists Sarah Isgur, senior editor at The Dispatch, and progressive journalist, Nomiki Konst, bring rapport back to the table and invite their listeners to do the same.
The team will cover topics spanning from the upcoming election, current events, and the government at large. Some recent podcasts have dove into the questions of “Do debates have winners– or just losers?”, “How has ‘Make America Great Again’ evolved in the Trump Era?”, and “Where does Brazil’s X ban leave free speech in the US?”
Lancaster native David Greene aims to have conversations to spark solutions. As former host of NPR’s Morning Edition and Up First, Greene won the 2011 Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize for his coverage of the Arab Spring. A more detailed biography can be found here for those curious. Greene always enjoys hearing student perspectives and will host a Q&A after the live recording.
For a campus that is certainly not shy of political dialogue, students would be amiss to miss the opportunity to witness an educational, civil discussion facilitated by both sides of the political spectrum.
Do not miss out on this unique listening experience brought to campus by the Steinman Institute for Civic Engagement. Be sure to reserve your spot before space runs out. Tickets are available here, free of charge!
