As we all get ready for a much deserved break, I wanted to send out my usual pre spring break note from the Student Wellness Center.

For those students remaining on campus over the break, the Student Wellness Center is open regular hours (8:30AM-4:30PM) Tuesday through Friday.  We are closed on Monday of spring break week.

If you require care outside the time that the Student Wellness Center is open, here are some suggestions.  There is more information on after hours care on the student wellness center website.

The closest Urgent Care is the LG facility on Duke St (540 N Duke St).  Their hours are Mon-Fri – 5PM-12AM and Sat./Sun 9AM-12AM.

The Urgent Care at 2118 Spring Valley Rd (off Rohrerstown Rd past the LG Health campus) is open 9AM-9PM Monday through Friday and 8AM-8PM Sat / Sun

You can reserve your spot in line at either urgent care or see what the wait is by going towww.LGHealthUrgentCare.org

If you are experiencing a medical EMERGENCY, please call the Department of Public Safety (717-358-3939) or dial  911.

If you have a mental health EMERGENCY, you can call the Department of Public Safety, or Lancaster Crisis Intervention at 717-394-2631.

For those students that are traveling, please follow proper hand hygiene in order to minimize your chances of flu, coronavirus and many other illnesses that are still very prevalent.

Wash your hands frequently especially before and after eating, after using the rest room, and after touching objects that are frequently touched by others.  Keep your hands away from your face as much as possible.  Do not share eating utensils or drinking glasses.  Be extra careful if planning to visit grandparents or any individuals with significant underlying health issues.

Practicing this hand hygiene routine is your best defense against many illnesses.

If you travel to an area in which there is concern for coronavirus, or if you feel you may have been exposed to someone who is under investigation and/or tests positive for coronavirus, please contact the student wellness center prior to your return to campus.

Let’s all have a safe and healthy break.
