Lancaster City has a plethora of small local businesses that could use our support during the COVID-19 pandemic — and in an effort to abide by F&M’s Pledge and to maintain social distancing and other safety measures, take-out is a no-brainer. But the question is: Where?

Well, you’ve come to the right place.  Keep reading to get a good idea of all the different types of food you can grab for you and your friends in the coming weeks while being safe at the same time!

Frisco’s Chicken is where you can go for a family-style meal.  Aside from the fantastic chicken, you can pick from a selection of sides, including a personal favorite of mine: mac-n-cheese!

If you happen to be in the mood for some fantastic Greek food, look no further than Souvlaki Boys. Accompanied by authentic pita bread and hummus, their chicken skewers are a must.  Their Greek salad is also to die for.

Rice and Noodles (as well as their second location, Sprout) offer a handful of delicious Vietnamese entrees. The Vermicelli salad bowls are extremely filling, and the wonton soup is spectacular.

In the mood for pizza or stromboli? Here are two options for you.

Right down the street from F&M across the street from Roschel College House you can find Rosa Rosa. Their spaghetti pizza is a MUST… and it’s filling! You’ll have plenty of leftovers and it’s the perfect entree to share with friends.  Check them out at

The Sugar Bowl is the place to grab some stromboli — and you better use that 10% off discount that the Sugar Bowl offers to F&M students!  If you’re stuck on campus, they deliver Thursday-Sunday from 4 pm to close, and you can also take advantage of Grubhub and DoorDash.

Don’t just take it from me. I opened the floor to other natives in the Lancaster area to pitch in what their go-to take-out restaurants have been throughout the pandemic, so make sure to take a look at these restaurants as well:

Max’s Eatery (modern diner eatery:  https://www.maxseatery.com/ )

Callaloo Trinidadian Kitchen (Trinidadian entrees: http://callalootrinidadiankitchen.com/ )

Route 66 (American style burgers and fries: https://route66pa.com/ )

Issei Noodle (Asian restaurant: https://isseinoodle.com/ )

Harvest (Seasonal farm-to-table grill: https://harvestseasonalgrill.com/lancaster-restaurant/ )
