F&M sports have had an exciting two weekends, with school sports winning a vast majority of their games during True Blue Weekend.

Men’s soccer enjoyed another great week, pushing their win streak to four games, beating two ranked opponents in #24 Swarthmore and #23 Johns Hopkins, and shutting out Ursinus and Lebanon Valley. This Tuesday, the Centennial Conference Championship begins, so hopefully, F&M can keep their hot streak up, and bring a chip to F&M.

Women’s soccer was also able to put together a good week, blowing out Ursinus, and holding out against Gettysburg through two overtimes for a tie. After falling to #2 Johns Hopkins, the team looks for a bounce-back win against Gettysburg in the first round of the conference championship.

After a nail-biting win versus Dickinson to bring the Wagon home, the football team fell to #17 Muhlenberg 27-10. With two conference games left in the season, and the opponents having a combined 4-12 record, the football team hopes to bring home wins in order to qualify for the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series.

The swimming season has begun, with the men’s team recording strong wins over Ursinus, McDaniel, and Swarthmore, and the women’s team beating Ursinus, McDaniel, but falling to Swarthmore. This weekend, the teams faced Gettysburg, with the men’s team emerging victorious, but the women’s team recording their second loss of the season. Next week the teams face Mary Washington and York, looking to pick up steam for a rivalry meet vs Dickinson on the 13th.

Field hockey finished out their season on a 3-game winning streak against Bryn Mawr, Muhlenberg, and McDaniel. With an overall 9-7 record, but a 5-5 conference record, the team looks for a strong offseason to build on their progress this year, and hopefully make a championship push next year.

Volleyball put together three strong performances against Bryn Mawr, Muhlenberg, and McDaniel, beating them all by three points. While a loss against Susquehanna shortens their streak, the team looks to carry their momentum through Gettysburg for a win in the first round of the conference championship.

The F&M rowing team has started their season, with three regattas facing multiple Division I opponents. Racing both student and alumni boats, the team is getting acclimated after a practice-only fall season in 2020, and a shortened spring 2021 season due to COVID restrictions. After racing at the famed Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, the team should develop their ‘sea legs’ soon, hopefully in time for their next race.
