Trump has been making worldwide headlines as of late, with the endorsement desire for the U.S. annexation of Greenland, as this idea seems to have come out of nowhere. With every new day of the Trump presidency seems to be a new induction of rules and ideals being spread by his party, his constituents, and or himself to define the American republic. But with this news, many of the American citizens wonder why? Looking back at American history, it doesn’t make much sense, as Greenland has not been in a large-scale war like Puerto Rico, nor is Denmark (its occupying country) facing economic strife like when it sold the Virgin Islands.

The reasoning of Trump and his administration is that Greenland allows protection through what he calls the ‘Golden Dome Defence System’ as they proclaim that focus in Greenland would supply safety to the United States from missiles or nukes that could be sent from Russia or China. This worry primarily is caused by Trump’s own insistence on bringing back nuclear facilities, as well as nuclear testing.

Yet this annexation doesn’t only affect America and Greenland it affects the rest of the world. As the rest of the world views America as greedy since America has a past of getting involved in conflict or starting conflict for resources and there are lots of minerals in Greenland. The important make up being: neodymium, dysprosium, graphite, copper, lithium, which are all minerals important to electrical technology, vehicles, machinery, and tech enhancements. These minerals are very important to the manufacturing world as well as other countries recognizing how important it would be to the exporter USA.
