Last Saturday, Lancaster hosted its sixth annual Lancaster MusicFest at Buchanan Park. The festival included local bands and performers like the Young Musician Academy and a group of musicians specializing in Irish and Celtic music. Food vendors, local craft beer/wine, street performers, and local businesses were showcased in the event in order to foster “an exceptional community experience,” according to the festival’s website.
This year’s festival provided activities for all ages, such as face paint, caricature drawings, and henna tattoos, along with local food vendors including Cupcakes by Casey, Lancaster Soft Pretzel, and Rendezvous Pizzeria.
The MusicFest was sponsored by the SmartHub Foundation, a local organization dedicated to promoting a more engaged Lancaster community. The festival also donates a portion of its proceeds to the Children’s Miracle Network, which raises funds for children’s hospitals across the US and Canada, as well as to Schreiber Pediatric, which provides education and therapy programs for families. If you missed it, check out the festival’s Instagram (lancmusicfest) and be on the lookout for details for next year’s festival!
